AFTER THE BATTLE

Instead of showing the battle itself, I wanted to capture the quiet moment afterward, when the character can finally sit down and catch her breath. She rests on a leather sofa, looking down at the mechanical arm damaged during the fight. Her beloved katana has been cleaned and placed beside her, while the “guardian angel” mentioned during the livestream—the cat—silently watches her wound. I also gave the cat a slightly worried expression this time.

Through the character’s pose, her damaged arm, and the object placed between her thighs, I wanted to create a connection with the previous illustration and let viewers imagine what might have happened before this scene. This kind of open-ended storytelling is something I really enjoy. Rather than explaining everything directly, a few visual hints can often inspire more imagination.

This demonstration also focuses on combining different materials, including the leather sofa, stockings, mechanical metal, and damaged surfaces. If you enjoy character illustrations with a sense of story, I hope this complete demonstration gives you some fresh inspiration!

CYBERPUNK

To be honest, this theme came to me spontaneously during the livestream. At the time, I only knew that I wanted to create a cinematic image with strong colors and a hint of story. Almost everything else developed naturally as I continued painting.

I spent part of my childhood in Hong Kong, and the narrow, crowded interior of my grandmother’s home left a lasting impression on me. I’ve always felt that this kind of space carries a natural sense of pressure, and adding high-tech elements made it feel perfectly suited to a cyberpunk world.

For the character design, I gave the heroine a qipao-inspired outfit with highly saturated items and accessories. Behind her, I placed a special armored soldier I had designed in the past. I wanted the overall palette to have the deep green tones and retro atmosphere often found in Wong Kar-wai’s films, so I chose bright yellow for the main character to make her stand out from the dark and complex environment.

From the characters and setting to the overall story atmosphere, nearly everything was explored step by step during the livestream. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this cyberpunk piece carrying a little of my Hong Kong memories!

HARU

<Street Fighter> was one of my favorite fighting games growing up, and <Chun-Li> was absolutely my dream girl! In my 2025 fabric tutorial course, I used her as the demo illustration for one lesson, adding some sci-fi elements I love. I also created a special version for this platform called <Haru>—and I’m excited to share it with you all! Hope you enjoy it!!

MERGE

This painting depicts a girl chosen as a sacrifice to save her village from the water demon.

According to local folklore, any baby born with a webbed hand must be raised until the age of 18 and then offered to the demon to ensure the village’s survival.

The girl, born with a webbed hand, dutifully accepted her fate. Despite having a childhood sweetheart and experiencing her first love, she could only give him one last memory: they shared their first intimate moment before her sacrifice. Heartbroken, the boy chose to end his life, believing they would reunite in heaven.

THE ENCOUNTER

In an ancient forest, a reclusive warrior accidentally opened a forbidden spellbook, summoning a winged elf. The elf, a guardian of the Crystal Forest, possessed the power to control life and death.

When the warrior pointed his sword at her, the elf stood her ground and softly said, “Redemption lies not in your sword, but in freeing your heart.” As the tension eased, they began to understand each other. This encounter changed their destinies and the elf’s view of humanity.
